Today, there are more platter drives than any other computer component. We just can’t seem to have enough storage, or so marketing says. That’s also due in part to the dramatic drops hard drive prices and capacities increases seen over the last two years. Many of them are simply too super cheap and large to pass up. Price drops have also coincided with the release of Solid State Drive technology.

As more SSDs reach the market offering better performance and modest capacities, expect platter drives to continue to drop in price to hold on to as much of the market as possible. However, there are a few things that continue to limit both platter drives and SSDs. Let’s break down the facts so everyone can understand.

After browsing some pics of 80s and 90s Halloween pictures from around the net, it’s really interesting to see how far the art of scaring people has come along. Things were far more archaic back then compared to now. Instead of a limited supply of masks and costumes, there literally thousands to choose from. And, the props are far more detailed now. With a little more time than money, anyone can darn near recreate a movie grade layout.
